Laurence's commission

Nearly finished Laurence's commission for a bag for her husband. The only thing I still have to do is to finish the shoulder strap. However, there is some hardware missing and I am waiting for it to arrive:

The outside fabric is a very fine, beautiful tweed which I bought in the Scottish borders. The fabric has woven-in wide stripes of different colours. I have used two different colours on the front and the back of the bag.

The top with the zipper is one colour only.

The colours for the bottom panel change at the centre of the panel at the bottom.

The lining is also a woollen fabric with woven-in squares and has one large slip pocket for a laptop, two smaller slip pockets for smartphone, etc. and one narrow pocket in the centre of these two for one or two pens or pencils.

Laurence's bag

I finished this bag today. It looks smart with its tweed fabric (a skirt given to me by a neighbour who had never worn it) and fleather. The fleather feels very soft and looks great.

Again this bag is made with the pattern that seems very popular at the moment among my friends. It is large enough to take anywhere at any time of the day, work, shopping, etc., but also smart enough to take with you for an evening out. Of course it is also the ideal size for budget airlines as it can contain all you need to take with you on your flight and the time waiting at airports.

Front with large slip pocket and magnet closure and a long strap so that it can be worn cross body and you can keep your hands free. The back of this bag has a large zippered pocket.

Zipper pull made of small seed beads.

This bag has three large slip pockets.

And, of course, the side pockets!
