Hoorah, I can sew again!

Last week I started sewing again after a break of about four months. I still have to take it easy because my left arm is not completely healed but I have made a start with some small and easy to finish bags:

Using some of my painted sea stones to keep the pattern down.
This will be the third and last of this series. After this one I will start at a different series.

Some bits needed for the bag.

Cutting the fleece.

Getting ready for the back outside zippered pocket.

Nearly ready for assembling.

The first one I made two weeks ago and

the second one, made last week!

Slip pocket for mobile

Large enough for laptop, A4 files, etc.

Large side zippered pocket

Closed side zippered pocket

Inside with two slip pockets covered with a flap, bottle holder and key clip.

Autumn seems just around the corner.

It seems people are already moving toward autumn and winter because the commissions I have had lately are more winter than summer colours.

Here are some pictures of a commission for a small bag for somebody who normally drags half her household stuff with her (you never now when you need something!). It is made of handwoven wool and faux black suede:

Front with large pocket.
The adjustable strap is wool on one side and faux suede on the other.
Seen from above with open slip pocket.
Inside with one slip pocket and a ring for the key.
Back with smaller pocket for tickets.

Small and precious!

I received a commission for a small shoulder bag in dove grey faux suede and vintage cotton. And this is what I made:

Not just jewellery!

I have just finished two commissions and am just waiting for another one for which the fabrics still have to be chosen!

Sales afternoon

We had a very good afternoon yesterday. I exhibited my bags in one of the empty rooms and the jewellery was exhibited next door. And there were two very happy little girls!
